01How the quiz decides
It weighs your answers against the usual causes of stutter on a PC with good parts.
Each answer adds weight to some causes and takes it from others. A definite answer outweighs a guess: a monitor measured at 60 Hz that the box says can do 144, a single memory stick, or memory below the speed on the box. When your answers say little, the common causes come first.
The quiz measures one thing itself, the refresh rate of the screen this page is on. Everything else is what you tell it.
02What it cannot see
Your hardware. It only knows what you tell it.
It cannot read your memory speed, your temperatures or which graphics chip runs the game. If two causes look equally likely, check both: each takes about two minutes.
If none of them fits, the problem may be in Windows itself or in the hardware. Why a good PC can still be slow goes through the rest.
03What happens to your answers
Nothing. They stay on this page.
The quiz runs in your browser and sends nothing. The only form on the page is the cheat sheet, and that is a normal email signup you choose to make.
